Greatness and weakness of cooperative attitudes. Introduction of the theme and presentation of articles |
|
|
Author(s) : |
Christian, Bourion |
|
Abstract : |
Cooperative behaviour refers to the forming of alliances when sharing resources. Such a type of behaviour is based on blood-ties, feelings, symbols and interests. Cooperative behaviour is all the more difficult to establish when none of the elements above-mentioned are shared or when they are opposed. Cooperation depends on the degree of anxiety and pleasure resulting both from the relationship and the thought of breaking it up. The latter case may cause a bellicose attitude expressed by Fight of Flight. In addition, the more stifling the relationship is, the higher is the risk of breaking it up. Cooperative behaviour appears as an emergence process affecting several different levels. It should be noted that a bond created at a one level often results in a breaking off at another level- couple, family, school, company, political world, religion and oneself. |

Linkages and hiatuses: From birth to old age |

Abstract : |
The logic of living beings, guaranteed by the nervous system, allows to transgress the view usually focused on the ties which comfort, but at the same time hold back and on the ruptures which relieve, but make feel insecure.
It sheds light on what seems to be a paradox in order to propose a consistent vision of a movement of life.
The tie is a source of self-confidence, the rupture is a source of freedom : these two aspirations are the two polarities of one and the same existential need, namely the need for security. The comprehension of this vital process permits to accompany the child and the adult when emotions occur at time of changes.Indeed, the sensorial and relational consciousness of what is going on in situations of fear, anger and sadness, allows to make contact with this need, contact that has to be experienced in one’s own body as well as in one’s relationships to others. The emotions are then recognized as the witnesses of our resistances to adapt ourselves to a changing reality. Our balance when we walk, happens when we are free to celebrate the ties that make us feel secure AND when we feel reassured to celebrate the ruptures that liberate us. |

Title : |
The animal mediator of the human. Powerful but limited by artificiality, modernity feels the need to find a relationship with nature |
|
|
Author(s) : |
Franck, Cosson |
|
Abstract : |
Assuming that the disenchantment of the world is due to the rupture between the modern man and nature, this article aims at reassessing the importance of animals and showing why animal experience is necessary for man in order to fulfill his life as a human as well as a social being. Animals have indeed become a major stake for a modern world which has cut itself off from nature and feels the need to reconnect itself to it. On the one hand, some priviledged experiences such as stroking make it possible to establish tangible relations and experience a feeling of perfect happiness. On the other hand, the relation to pets can be seen as an extension of democratic individualism: we are in search of a double that is inferior to us, available whenever we want. The interest we feel for wild animals might mean that we need a genuine contact with a nature that has remained untouched, a nature that has an ontological meaning. It might also be a sign that the modern man, freed from the uniformity and alienation of the world around, has gained a wealth of experience. More significantly, animals may be considered as mediators: within a dialectic relation involving what they have in common with us together with what makes them different, they enable us to know ourselves better, to achieve a form of self-knowledge which is all the more valuable as it gives us access to the plurality of animal worlds. A phenomenological approach reveals that, far from being alienating or restrictive, the process of identifying with the animal leads us to reconsider our relation to the world. Animals may contribute to the “reenchantment” of the world. They may allow us to have access to a new humanism based on an anthropozoological relation rather than on an insuperable divide. |

Title : |
Indoctrination and breakdown of links in case of "parental alienation syndrome". Psychological consequences on children of divorce becoming adults |
|
|
Author(s) : |
Ursula, Kodjoe ; Wilfrid, von Boch-Galhau |
|
Abstract : |
From the viewpoint of psychiatry and psychotherapy, PAS, with the symptoms described by R.-A. Gardner, is to be seen as a special subcategory of parental alienation in separation-/divorce conflicts, with an accompanying disorder in the child due to severe manipulative (indoctrinating) parental misconduct. The induction of PAS in the child must be considered as a form of psychological/emotional abuse. It can be connected with traumatizing long term effects in the child and later adult. It is difficult to understand that this phenomenon – despite corresponding clinical findings and despite relevant results of recent research concerning traumatology, victimology and attachment – is still bagatellized, denied or even opposed by many experts. |

Between desire and possibility, the "window" of divorce. The use of the notion of event to model the dynamic links between marital breakdown and women's labor supply |
|
|
Author(s) : |

|
Abstract : |
The aim of this article is to examine the link of causality between divorce and female labor supply from the point of view of the temporal linking. We demonstrate that, for the analysis of economics consequences of divorce, it’s important to take into account not only the divorces occurred before an possible change on the labor market but also the divorces later to this possible change, in the case where the anticipation of this possible future divorce can lead the concerned women to modify their behaviour in advance. We propose to use the notion of event window, notion used in finance, to delimit the period during the event divorce produce some effects and to identify which events are relevant to explain the female labor supply. |

The riots of autumn 2005 in the French suburbs from the point of view of the rioters |

|
Abstract : |
During November 2005, France suddenly took up the first place in the international media scene. The most gloomy words, and the most untrue, could be heard. However, France witnessed the most important urban riots in its contemporary history: for the first time, the phenomenon is no more localized, specific to the quarter where a drama take place; on the contrary it take a national dimension. How to analyse those phenomenon? How to qualify and explain those collective identifications process in the poor neighbourhood’s youth? This article first question about those who ordinary don’t talk: rioters themselves. Then appears, beyond the riot’s context, the deep motives of their rage, which concern their everyday life’s experience, both individual and collective. Then, we extend the analysis to the inhabitants of those quarters, most of them also silent in the public debate. Their interrogation show an understanding indeed a share of some of those rioters’ deep motives. This explain the moral legitimacy feelings of rioters. In conclusion, this article diagnose a double integration’s crisis, socioeconomic and political, of those youth in contemporary French society. |

This national commitment aims at assuring handicapped people access to common rights and guaranteeing equality in all fundamental issues of social and professional life: access to care, school and education, employment, housing and transport, culture, sports and leisure activities. The Act also encourages handicapped people’s full participation in all facets of civic affairs. |

Abstract : |
Whereas defiance of established authority, is a very common phenomemenon, managers rarely complain about it. Workers comply with the rules they judge legitimate and rightful, which does not mean they obey all the orders they are given. In fact, hierarchy is very often criticized by the management who regularly associate it with bureaucracy. This paper explains the role of these critics ans why they are possible. |

Author(s) : |
Guy, Deloffre ; Jan, Bodin |
|
Abstract : |
This paper presents findings from a negotiation exercise that took place during fall 2002 between students from Umeå School of Business & Economics (USBE) in Sweden and Institut Commercial de Nancy (ICN) in France. It describes the case and its objectives, presents the groups of students, the situation, and the method used to play the negotiation game. It includes some data collected during and after the case, like an analysis of written documents and of the mutual perception of the negotiators. Specific elements like the meaning of words or the time of reaction are significant for the players. It ends with comments about the lessons learnend and further recommandations for future assignements. |

Running head: perceptions of death. Person Perceptions of Death with a Japanese and an American Target |
|
|
Author(s) : |
JongHan, Kim ; Scott T., Allison |
|
Abstract : |
We propose that perceivers use culturally based contextual cues to assist them when forming trait judgments of individuals who commit suicide. American participants were shown a picture story detailing the life and death of an individual who was raised in either an individualistic or collectivistic society. The death of the target person was manipulated by describing either a suicide or a car accident, and we included a control group in which the target person was alive. Participants evaluated the target person on the domains of morality, shallowness, selfishness, intelligence, boringness, and likeability. Results supported our hypothesis that participants’ perceptions of the death of the target person were significantly affected by the target’s cultural background. Most importantly, these differences were found only in the domains of impression that are relevant to cultural connotations of suicide, such as morality, shallowness, selfishness. The target’s different cultural background did not affect impressions on the irrelevant impression domains such as intelligence, boringness. The theoretical implications of these findings are discussed. |

Abstract : |
Identity is seen as fundamental questioning at the care of existence but leading up right away to the difficulty of bringing a clearly defined answer. A priori the ego is a many-sided being, sometimes wavering but above all in a continuous dynamism.
However, doesn’t the work of memory or of writing aim at endowing it with a unity whose content is still to be affraised. |
