Patrice Laroche is a professor at the Institut d'Administration des Entreprises (IAE) in Nancy (Université de Lorraine) since 2007. He is a specialist in HRM and organizational behavior. His research focuses on the effects of union activity on company performance. He is the author or co-author of several contributions in collective works and of numerous articles published in scientific journals (ILR Review, Industrial Relations: A Journal of Economy and Society, British Journal of Industrial Relations, European Journal of Industrial Relations, Human Resource Management (Wiley), Human Resource Management Journal, …). He is also the author or co-author of several books in the field of industrial relations including "The Economics of Trade Unions : A Study of a Research Field and its Findings ", co-authored with Chris Doucouliagos and Richard B. Freeman and published by Routledge in 2017.
He received his PhD in management science from the Université de Nancy 2, for which he was awarded the FNEGE-AGRH national prize for the best thesis in 2003.
During his career, he has been a visiting professor at Cornell University Industrial and Labor Relations School), UC Berkeley (Institute for Research on Labor and Employment) and the London School of Economics and Political Science (Centre for Economic Performance). From 2008 to 2013, Patrice Laroche was also director of the European Center for Research in Financial Economics and Business Management (CEREFIGE, EA 3942) at the University of Lorraine. Appointed junior member of the Institut Universitaire de France (IUF) in 2008, he is currently an honorary member of the IUF and also a member of the Comité d'évaluation des ordonnances Travail - France Stratégie. |
