Occupational stress is now a concern for companies and workers, but also for trade unions and the state, as highlighted by the recent European framework agreement on work-related stress. This article aims to study the demonstration of processes by which employees who are particularly exposed to stressful work situations develop strategies that allow them to maintain their level of performance and to meet the expectations of caregivers. Results based on observer status participating in an emergency service and on individual interviews, offer a typology of stressful work situations and explore the means of coping developed by employees in a context of work judged difficult. |
