Our purpose consists in thinking organizational irrationality within its ternary contrariety / contradiction relation with rationality and non-rationality. At a first conceptual step, we establish that triad, casting rationality as a regulated string of tokens. At a second anthropological step, we embed that relation within non-rational processes of rationalization, the latter being understood in a double pragmatic and representational sense. The last step consists in illustrating that ternary relation and those processes through a typology of the most obvious manifestations of organizational reactive irrationalism. |
