Contrary to common misconceptions, the organizational environment of so called « liberated » companies does not suppress any form of management practices ; it puts forward a new model based on leadership positions operating outside the removed hierarchical structure. Based on field exploratory results as part of a DBA research, the purpose of this article is to outline the specific features of the leadership model that was set up in a company on the path to « liberation ». We begin with a description of the new management positions and the changes incurred by the new model. Then we consider how managers cope with the changes of their job content. We conclude with a review of the challenges encountered in implementing the new leadership model. |
