Résumé : |
If one can expect corporate liberation to logically embrace a polyphonic approach (Pichault, 2013) – i.e. an approach built on communication and actors’ involvement as well as on confrontation between opposite voices (Sullivan & McCarthy, 2008) – it appears that such a process can take a panoptical form through intended control and social discipline. Based on a qualitative research, this paper explores the implementation of a liberation process: steps, barriers and ways to possibly overcome them, stakeholders’ involvement and associated negotiations, resistances and tensions, etc. The case study has been carried out in a Belgian public administration characterised by an important union presence. The aim is to shed light on some paradoxes brought about by the so-called liberated company when it comes to actual change management practices. |
