Using control to develop trust in organizations? Impossible! And yet... The research we conducted, interviewing employees and managers of an organization that chose trust as an organizational principle, invites us to consider how control mechanisms allow the development of a sense of confidence instead of paradoxical trust. It requires the combination of a positive view of people and a willingness to integrate risk instead of trying to control it, which allows us to use control mechanisms with a cooperative intent out of a common interest. |
