The figure of the whistleblower has been little examined in relation to Organizational Silence (OS). Indeed, before the whistleblower appears, first there is silence. And this OS is at the same time dissimulating and socializing. In this article we put emphasis on the interdependent relationship between OS and whistleblowing. Moreover we propose a general definition of OS and its characteristics. Then we present a new OS typology in connection with the whistleblower. In conclusion, we emphasize the central importance of whistleblower for any corporate ethics policy. |
